Gilgamesh, I do disagree with you about priestcraft: it seems to me that limiting that particular form of ecclesiastical malpractice to financial gain is an incomplete view. Abuse for financial gain is a form of priestcraft, but not the only form. Any time we exercise unrighteous dominion, whether to undermine or embarrass another, to twist truths in order to make our points, to put a personal viewpoint ahead of our obligation to love all men and to cry salvation, “even with the voice of angels,” we’re guilty of priestcraft. In fairness, priestcraft is purple: practiced in equal measure by both the red and the blue.
