The MormonPress blogging team is made up of people who believe strongly in careful research and standing up for their beliefs, religious as well as political. The authors previously hosted "Mormons For Obama," "LDSDems of America," “MormonDems," and "MormonLiberals.” These communities feature authors from all over the United States and from a variety of backgrounds. Over the past years, these groups have had great success articulating progressive viewpoints as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We started these groups primarily because we felt that the Mormon faith has more to offer than the mainstream narrative might suggest—we sense a growing hunger for a progressive discussion of current events and politics from a Mormon perspective. The gathering of these communities under a big tent marks an early step toward an international community of Mormon progressives. A site for dialogue, the posts featured here represent only the opinion and perspective of their respective authors and not that of the Mormon Press or LDS Dems community as a whole. They should also not be taken to be the official stance or statement of any political organization or caucus or of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This is a blog about morality in the broadest sense. We write about values and ideals. We take our cues from our best interpretations of the Jesus Christ that we strive to emulate as Mormons. We hope you will join us in our search for truth.
